The best news I have recently is that we are finally getting this site up and running. I have been recording a
new CD that is finished and in the shrink wrap. It is titled
"Scene Songs" and is a very humble tribute to the Seldom Scene Band who has recorded numerous albums and CD's throughout the years. This CD contains 13 cuts that are my favorite tunes and ones that are within my vocal capabilities.

I was very fortunate to have some great help from some extraordinary friends and musicians.
Will
Parsons was involved with this project from the start to finish. He provided
lots of encouragement initially and then was the sound engineer and producer.
Additionally, he played all cuts where he tracked the bass, banjo, the mandolin
on some cuts, and played the bodhrun. Will sang various harmony parts on some of
these cuts. I will forever appreciate the level of encouragement that he has
provided. This is even more amazing since Will is extremely busy with his
mandolin business -- he build some top notch mandolins -- and his teaching
assignments at East Tennessee State University along with various private
lessons that he gives. And, of course, Will plays lots of gigs with various
bands including the great Meridian band.
I was fortunate to have Jeff Parker on the project. Jeff is extremely busy
since he is working with the Dailey/Vincent Band which some people think is the
hottest band currently out there. Jeff is highly acclaimed for his mandolin
picking and tenor and lead vocals. He played mandolin and sang harmonies of
numerous cuts.
Darrell Webb was involved with the harmony on three cuts. Again, since he
plays with Rhonda Vincent Darrell is extremely busy and I am so happy he spent
time tracking these vocal harmonies.
Megan Gregory plays fiddle on numerous tracks and sings harmony on a bunch of
them as well. I consider Megan to be a very good friend who vocal abilities are
fantastic and amazing. Her harmony tracks helped mold the sound that emerged on
these cuts. Megan is a awesome fiddle player and stays extremely busy playing
with the Meridian Band and giving private music lessons.
Lastly, Kim Allison helped on some vocal tracks as well. Kim's vocal
harmonies helped shape "Almost Threw Your Love Away" and "Like We Used to Do"
into the harmony arrangements that I really like. It was so much fun to see
Will's producing capabilities at work in forming the combinations of
arrangements that helped shape the harmony variations found throughout all
thirteen tracks.
We were able to combine my lead vocals with harmony combinations that matched
Megan and Jeff, Jeff and Darrell, Megan and Kim, Will, Jeff, and Megan. These
variations are what I believed from the beginning would make some vary
interesting arrangements. Well, anyway, I hope those who listen to the CD enjoy
it as much as I enjoyed making it.
